Hello, after checking around, we decided to go to a local vet instead of a cancer treatment facility for Hero’s chemo. We took x-rays and a blood test on 2-6-10 and his lungs still looked clear. Hero will start on Carboplatin administered ever 3 weeks for five sessions next week. The cost will be $500 each session. Right now, Hero is doing great. He is happy and hops around well. He does get tired pretty quickly.

We did not use an oncologist vet….it wasn’t an option where we live. We used Paris’ general vet and she had actually recently attended a conference on chemo and dogs. She also was the vet in the office with the most experience.
So glad to hear the blood & x-rays are clear!! Hero is a beautiful boy!!

Hi, thanks for asking. Hero did his first chemo on Wednesday. Everything went well and he doesn’t seem to have any side effects.
